Metro Dallas IP Firm Adds New Patent Attorney

Harness IP, one of the country’s largest intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that patent attorney Alexandra Fuchs has joined the firm as an Associate in its Metro Dallas-Fort Worth office.

“Alex is already a strong attorney and she adds great experience to our team,” said Harness IP Principal Gerald Welch. “It’s a testament to Alex’s strength of character that she persevered through the pandemic, finished law school, and passed the bar exam. She certainly has the tenacity for a great career in patent law, and we are excited to have her with us.”

Fuchs previously served as a Summer Associate with the firm in 2019. Her practice focuses primarily on the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications for clients in the medical device field. She also conducts patentability studies, interviews inventors, and responds to Office Actions.

Before attending law school, Fuchs worked as a financial analyst for a major investment bank and financial services company. She was a member of the Market Risk-Calculations team, where she coded an automated software system to run large amounts of trading data and analyze market risks. Her team included members from several cities and different countries with whom she regularly worked and led training sessions on the system she developed. Her experiences allow her to understand the pressures facing clients to drive innovation and the dynamics of working with large, multi-faceted teams.

Fuchs holds a J.D. from Texas A&M University and has a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Physics, both cum laude, from the University of Texas at Dallas. Fuchs is admitted to the Texas Bar as well as the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
