Two Harness IP Attorneys Named in St. Louis Small Business Monthly’s Annual “Best Patent Attorneys” List

Harness IP, one of the country’s largest and most respected intellectual property law firms, is pleased to announce that St. Louis IP attorneys Elisabeth Koral and Mike Kella have been named to the list of “Best Patent Attorneys.” St. Louis Small Business Monthly published the 2019 list of winners based on a reader poll conducted by the publication.

Koral’s IP practice focuses on preparing and prosecuting patent applications for oil and gas, chemical, and pharmaceutical technologies. She is one of the firm’s go-to experts for patenting chemical and biopharma innovations, including the emerging area of biologics and biosimilars.

Koral earned a J.D. from Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law and received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. She is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, Board Member and Secretary of the St. Louis Downtown Children’s Center, and member of the St. Louis Art Museum and the St. Louis Zoo. She also volunteers with Brazen St. Louis as a legal mentor for women entrepreneurs.

Kella serves as a counselor and advisor to clients in the computer, software, and consumer electronics industries, with significant experience in technologies such as fintech, wireless communication, e-commerce, automotive systems and power management. His practice focus includes patent preparation and prosecution as well as rendering freedom to operate and patentability opinions. Kella also has significant experience litigating patent cases before federal courts and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Kella received his J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law with concentration in Intellectual Property Law. He also holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Kella is currently the Chair of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis’ (BAMSL) Patent, Trademark and Copyright Steering Committee, helping to plan this year’s Inventor of the Year CLE and award ceremony held in October 2018.
