Victor Kernus Joins Harness IP as Of Counsel

Harness IP is pleased to announce that patent attorney Victor Kernus has joined the firm as Counsel in its Washington, D.C. Metro office.

Victor, who has over 20 years of experience handling every aspect of patent law, will focus his practice on providing intellectual property (IP) solutions in several developing areas, including electric vehicle battery systems, autonomous vehicle navigation, advanced lighting technologies, aerospace design and manufacturing, medical technology, resource reclamation, and advanced energy systems. His considerable knowledge, technical background, and ability to comprehensively listen to the objectives of inventors and innovators make him an invaluable partner to a wide range of clients, helping them develop effective strategies that secure and leverage their intellectual property.

Prior to joining Harness, Victor was a partner at a mid-sized D.C. firm. He began his career designing testing equipment for U.S. Navy aircraft aircrew safety systems, including energy attenuating and ejection seats. He has written thousands of patent applications and is skilled in all areas of patent prosecution and defense. He also holds a patent for a particular starter motor connector and was a certified master automobile mechanic as well as a master electrician.

Victor is a graduate of Temple University’s College of Engineering and earned his juris doctor at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School.
