Harness IP is pleased to announce that Joseph Marcano-Estevez has joined the firm as a patent agent in the Metro Washington, D.C. office. 

Marcano-Estevez provides his clients with turnkey, real world solutions to the challenges they face in bringing their concepts and creations to life. He seeks practical protections and safeguards that enable inventions to succeed in the marketplace. Marcano-Estevez’s practice will focus on assisting clients with matters regarding the prosecution and protection of patents, and trademarks. He is well-versed in IP issues within a wide variety of industries, including energy production and delivery, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology. 

Marcano-Estevez brings significant work experience in electrical engineering, power generation and distribution, alternative energy development, and pharmaceutical engineering to Harness IP. He has worked as an engineer and entrepreneur, developing and deploying advanced energy systems throughout Puerto Rico that have helped establish power stability and redundancy for the island’s communities and businesses. Marcano-Estevez has a unique understanding of the IP law issues that exist at the intersection of engineering, law, and entrepreneurship. 

Marcano-Estevez graduated from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law and received his LL.M. from The George Washington University School of Law. He earned a B.S. in electrical engineering from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico.
