St. Louis patent attorneys Michael Thomas and Bryan Wheelock will participate in an upcoming Virtual Customer Partnership Meeting hosted by the USPTO. The meeting will focus on Technology Center 2800 and will take place August 11 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm ET.

Thomas and Wheelock will lead a short presentation on using different strategies to accomplish differing applicant goals. Examples include slowing down or speeding up patent prosecution, reducing current costs, and avoiding disclosure unless patent protection is assured.

The Virtual Customer Partnership Meeting will give patent owners and practitioners a chance to connect with USPTO representatives and discuss the programs that are available in Technology Center 2800. Participants will have a chance to share their perspectives about those programs, as well.

Thomas is a registered patent attorney with 25 years of patent and IP law experience. He advises clients in all areas of IP law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, freedom to operate opinions, PTAB proceedings, and global IP management. Before attending law school, Thomas worked as an electrical engineer for McDonnell Douglas Corporation, which has since merged with Boeing.

Wheelock is a registered patent attorney whose practice includes the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications for clients in diverse industries. He regularly drafts intellectual property agreements, such as non-compete agreements, and is a frequent speaker on the subject of intellectual property law. In addition to his practice at Harness IP, Wheelock is an Adjunct Professor at Washington University School of Law.
