Chambers USA Ranks Harness IP and 4 Attorneys Among 2023’s Best

Harness IP is pleased to announce that Chambers USA has ranked the firm among the best intellectual property law firms in Michigan and Missouri for 2023.

Four of its attorneys are also ranked for achievement in their practice area and for their outstanding representation of clients. The rankings were announced in this year’s edition of Chambers USA’s prestigious annual guide.

Chambers’ review notes that Harness, “a well-known boutique with a strong regional presence,” is “well versed in patent prosecution and enforcement.” It cites the firm’s recognition for “substantial prosecution work relating to patents and trademarks.”

The guide also notes that the firm has significant experience in copyright issues. Chambers brings forward Harness’ “additional expertise in litigious mandates including inter partes reviews and domain name disputes, as well as IP transactional matters such as due diligence.” The listing lauds the firm’s “wide-ranging assistance with portfolio management, and in regard to IP licensing issues.”

The four attorneys recognized by Chambers are veterans of the annual rankings.

St. Louis Principal Matt Cutler is described as “well known for his extensive experience in IP litigation.” He is “particularly noted for his handling of inter partes reviews, as well as his strength in noncontentious mandates such as patent applications.”

Chambers cites Glenn Forbis, a Principal in the Detroit Metro office, as a “noted patent litigator who regularly handles high-stakes disputes for clients from a range of highly technical industries.” This is Glenn’s second year in the rankings.

Greg Meyer, a Principal based in St. Louis, is praised for a “growing reputation for his expertise in patent prosecution and litigation in the Missouri market.” The guide notes that “he works with clients from a range of areas, including the agriculture and financial services spaces.”

The guide commends Lisabeth Coakley, saying she “receives acclaim for her well-established trademarks practice, which sees her frequently counsel clients on the filing and enforcement of their IP rights throughout the world.” Beth is Senior Counsel in the Detroit Metro Office.
