Paul Kim and Alexandra Fuchs Selected for LCLD 2024 Fellows and Pathfinder Programs

Harness IP is pleased to announce that Of Counsel Paul Kim and Associate Alexandra “Alex” Fuchs have been chosen to participate in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows and Pathfinder programs, respectively.

Fellows, LCLD’s flagship program, provides professional and personal development opportunities for high-potential, mid-career diverse attorneys at LCLD member organizations who have eight to 15 years of experience. Fellows are offered access to leadership training, relationship-building resources, and other LCLD members – including managing partners and general counsel – for mentoring and guidance. Participants have distinguished themselves within their organizations by being deeply engaged, indispensable to key clients and teams, invested in attorney mentoring and professional development, and on a trajectory toward leadership positions.

Pathfinder is a seven-month program designed to supplement training initiatives already in place at LCLD member organizations by connecting and training high-potential, early-career diverse attorneys with foundational leadership skills and relationship-building resources. The program gives participants practical tools for developing and leveraging internal professional networks, leadership skills, and an understanding of career development strategies. In addition to full-class programming, participants are placed in small groups led by a program facilitator who serves as a mentor to help Pathfinders connect what they learn to their experiences at the organizations where they work.

Paul is a patent lawyer who prepares and prosecutes domestic, international, and PCT patent applications in the electrical, computer, and mechanical fields. He also represents clients in patent litigation involving a wide variety of technologies. Before joining Harness IP, he worked as a Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, focusing on patent applications involving computer-related technologies, and as an engineer for a defense contractor.

Alex, a patent, IP litigation, and trademark attorney with a background in physics and math, works with clients in the medical devices, consumer products, and fitness equipment industries, among others. She previously served as a financial analyst for a major investment bank.

As part of its commitment to diversity and inclusion, Harness IP has participated in LCLD since 2021 and has seen eight of its attorneys participate in the Fellows and Pathfinders programs.

LCLD comprises more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners – the leadership of the profession – who have pledged themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. Its action programs are designed to attract, inspire, and nurture the talent in society and within its member organizations, helping a new and more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to leadership positions. By producing tangible results in its member institutions, it works to promote inclusiveness in its organizations, circles of influence, and society with the ultimate goal of building a more equitable and diverse legal profession.
