Trademark Attorney Beth Coakley Recognized in 2020 “Leading Michigan Women Lawyers” List

Harness IP is pleased to announce that Beth Coakley has been selected to the 2020 list of “Leading Michigan Women Lawyers” by Leading Lawyers. The listing will appear in the July/August issue of DBusiness.

With more than 39 years of combined experience as in-house and outside counsel, Coakley prosecutes, enforces, licenses, and maintains some of the world’s most famous trademarks. She has been responsible for protecting and enforcing some of the world’s most famous trademarks. In the last decade alone, Coakley filed and resolved 500+ trademark Oppositions and Cancellation actions around the world.

Closely related to her practice as a trademark attorney, Coakley is involved in multiple legal organizations. She is currently Chair for the State Bar of Michigan Intellectual Property Law Section. Coakley is also a member of the invite-only Michigan Intellectual Property Inn of Court, where she holds the title “Master of the Bench.” In the past, Coakley served this group as Membership Chair.

Outside of the legal community, Coakley is actively involved in a number of charitable causes. She frequently serves as a volunteer for Leader Dogs for the Blind, where she helps with the training of service dogs for the blind or visually impaired. She is also an active proponent of the Detroit Goodfellows and regularly volunteers and donates blood to the American Red Cross.
