Trademark Attorney Joel Samuels to Lead CLE on the Top Trademark Cases of 2020

St. Louis trademark attorney Joel Samuels will lead an upcoming CLE presentation titled “8th Circuit Trademark Litigation Year in Review.” The event, hosted by The Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, will take place on January 26, 2021. The CLE will run from 12:00 to 1:30.

The topic of discussion will be all of the trademark cases decided in the Supreme Court, 8th Circuit Court of Appeals, and District Courts in the 8th Circuit. New developments in trademark law and applications of existing jurisprudence will be also be discussed.

Joel Samuels is an intellectual property and trademark attorney in the Metro St. Louis office of Harness IP. With nearly a decade of practice, Joel is not only a legal advisor and counselor, but also a facilitator to delivering productive, efficient, and streamlined solutions to his clients. Joel’s practice focuses on intellectual property litigation in the areas of patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights. His experience includes all aspects of federal litigation, including conducting discovery, drafting briefs, conducting trial, and complying with settlement obligations. Joel also prepares the full array of legal opinions, including clearance, validity, and infringement opinions.

Joel is also called upon to negotiate and document a wide variety of agreements, including settlement, license, and inventor development arrangements. In addition, he advises on IP related transactions and claims involving complex antitrust issues, as well as advocates his client’s position in trademark oppositions and cancellations before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and Inter Partes Review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Joel holds a J.D. from Pennsylvania State University as well as Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics and 
Political Science, both magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University.
