Harness IP Promotes Scott Yackey to Principal

Harness IP is pleased to announce that patent attorney Scott Yackey has been promoted to Principal, effective January 1, 2022.

As a Principal in the firm’s Frisco, Texas office, Yackey will continue to focus on serving clients in all areas of obtaining and enforcing patents and trademarks. In addition to handling prosecution and litigation matters, he also supports Inter Partes Review efforts and conducts freedom to operate analyses for clients in the automotive, electrical, mechanical, and medical devices industries, among others.  

Before attending law school, Yackey gained industry experience as an engineer for a global Tier 1 automotive supplier. His position involved working to improve exhaust systems and engine performance for light vehicle, commercial truck, and off-highway equipment manufacturers.

Yackey holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from Saint Louis University School of Law and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University.
