Patent Agent or Patent Attorney – Biotech

Harness IP, an established IP boutique firm with a rapidly growing chemical practice, is in search of a lateral candidate in our metro-St. Louis office to support our expanding Biotech team. Qualified candidates must be registered with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Ideally this individual will possess 2-6 years’ experience with the following minimum education requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, and 2 years of laboratory experience
  • Master’s degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or similar
  • PHD in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or similar

Consideration may be given to candidates located in MI, VA, or TX. Remote candidates with experience of at least 4-6 years will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Patent Prosecution Associate – Electrical/Computer or Mechanical

Harness IP, an established intellectual property law firm ranked among the top ten patent law firms in the U.S., has an immediate opening in our St. Louis, MO office for an associate attorney with 0-2 years of experience and an undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or computer engineering. Eligibility to practice before the U.S. Patent Office and familiar with U.S. patent practice including demonstrated experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications is a plus. This position offers an opportunity to develop a varied and interesting practice preparing and prosecuting patent applications on a range of commercially significant technologies for large- and medium-sized clients from diverse industries including semiconductors, computer-related technologies, telecommunications, consumer electronics, digital image processing, and robotics. Patent Prosecution Associate – Mechanical

Harness IP, an established intellectual property law firm ranked among the top ten patent law firms in the U.S., has an immediate opening for an associate attorney in its Frisco, TX office with 0-2 years’ experience. Qualified candidates will have the following:

  • Undergraduate degree and/or technical experience in Mechanical Engineering (some chemistry experience is a plus, but not required)
  • In good standing at or graduation from an ABA accredited law school
  • USPTO registration or eligible to sit for the Patent Bar Exam
  • Strong academic credentials (class ranking in the top 20% preferred)
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
