Corey’s practice focuses on the preparation and prosecution of domestic and international patent applications across the mechanical, chemical, and electrical arts. As a certified professional engineer, he can synthesize highly complex technologies with exceptional precision, enabling him to draft patents for even the most sophisticated and cutting-edge innovations. He has particular experience in technologies related to wireless communications, nuclear power, e-vaping devices, complex industrial processes and formulations. Corey’s personable communication style and deep technical expertise are valued by clients and colleagues alike.

Corey holds an M.B.A. with an academic emphasis in Finance and Marketing and a focus on Business Operations. This business background allows him to approach matters from multiple perspectives, enhancing his understanding of clients’ immediate business needs and long-term commercial goals. With two decades of legal practice, Corey remains proactive in tracking developments in intellectual property law, business operations and quality control. He is committed to keeping clients informed of legal changes that may affect their IP portfolios and business strategies. Corey is particularly dedicated to delivering “quality” and understanding what quality means to each client.

Corey has a Yellow Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma. 

Prior to practicing law, Corey spent eight years as a Chemical Process Engineer for Black & Veatch, a global consulting engineering firm, where he gained extensive experience in the fossil fuel and nuclear power industries. Working as a chemical engineer, Corey evaluated and managed complex chemical and mechanical technologies, giving him a personal understanding of some of the challenges his clients face. While in law school, Corey held an externship in General Electric Power System’s Patent Group, allowing him to further understand the needs of in-house clients.
