Jacob Waier’s practice at Harness IP is focused on providing counsel that enables clients to achieve their intellectual property goals. He has an abiding respect for the creative process and a deep understanding of the procedures necessary to protect innovative works. Combined with his skills in data analysis, he brings unique insight to the patent prosecution process.
Jacob’s work ethic, communication skills and collaborative approach to his practice provide solutions for clients seeking guidance on IP transactions, patent protections and prosecutions as well as IP litigation. He is experienced in patent research, competitive analysis and international office communications.
Jacob is particularly interested in helping clients successfully work through the patent application process by providing proactive research, insight and analysis into competitive patents, their potential arguments and prior art. He appreciates the process of research and development and enjoys assisting inventors in identifying patentable aspects of their work to bridge the gap from innovation to legal protection and marketability.
Jacob recently earned his juris doctor from the University of New Hampshire Franklin Pierce School of Law where his studies were concentrated on patent law, patent practice and procedure, intellectual property (IP) management, trademark law and copyright law. He interned at Siemens Healthineers, assisting IP counsel on matters ranging from freedom to operate studies to legal research to patent research and competitive analysis. He helped draft instructions for foreign associates on foreign office actions and met regularly with inventors to help bring their creations to life. He also interned for a private practice attorney focused on trademark, copyright and various intellectual property matters.
Jacob is a gamer and technology buff and is proficient in Python Programming Language. He is an avid golfer, played varsity soccer while in college, and maintains an affection for outdoor activities ranging from fishing to hiking.
